A returning face to City Council is Ester Chandler was sworn into her third term Place 1 council seat in 2003. An eight year resident of Columbus, she is currently Guidance Counselor at Columbus High School.

She has also served our City as a Board Member of the Columbus Community and Industrial Development Corporation, Director of the Chamber of Commerce, and member of the Columbus I. S. D. Improvements Council.

Married for over twenty years, her husband is Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Gary Chandler.  Her her youngest is a senior at Columbus High School.
