CALENDAR OF UPCOMING LIBRARY EVENTS

June 2, 2008 (Monday): Summer Reading Program begins. Children may begin registering on June 2 and may begin recording books the next day. Registration remains open throughout July.

July 22, 2008 (Tuesday): Appearance by Gail Folkins, author of Texas Dance Halls: A Two-Step Circuit, address followed by book signing, 7:00 p. m., free and open to the public. Folkins' book features many nearby dance halls, including Swiss Alp, Freyburg Hall, Wright’s Park, Dubina Hall, Round-Up Hall in La Grange, and the KJT hall at Ammannsville.

August 5, 2008 (Tuesday): Closing event of Summer Reading Program, a performance by magician Julian Franklin, 10 a. m., certificates awarded and refreshments served, free and open to the public.

August 14, 2008 (Thursday): Meeting of the Advisory Board of the Nesbitt Memorial Library, 5:30 p. m., free and open to the public.

September 23, 2008 (Tuesday): Recital by folk guitarist Michael Dorian, 7:00 p. m., free and open to the public.

November 7 and 8 (Friday and Saturday): Sixth Annual Live Oaks and Dead Folks Cemetery Tour. Tickets to go on sale in October.
