CONTRACT FOR EXECUTIVE SECRETARY BETWEEN THE COLUMBUS COMMUNITY & INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CORP. AND COLUMBUS CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU WHEREAS, the Columbus Community & Industrial Development Corporation (CCIDC) of the City of Columbus, Texas, wishes to receive support services which will benefit the CCIDC by providing local administrative support for economic development and CCIDC programs by receiving and responding to inquires of potential businesses interested in locating in the Texas Crossroads Business Park, assist in site selection, refer necessary contacts to the City Manager, provide workforce training programs and other business development programs through the Blinn College Small Business Development Program, take minutes of CCIDC board meetings and other projects and programs directly associated with economic development, and; WHEREAS, the Columbus Convention & Visitor’s Bureau is a non-profit agency dedicated to promoting tourism and tourism business development for the City of Columbus and has the experience and capability to provide such services for the CCIDC; NOW THEREFORE, the Columbus Community & Industrial Development Corporation hereby agree as follows: 1. Columbus Convention & Visitor’s Bureau hereby agrees to provide staffing to accomplish the above-described services for the period commencing on September 1, 2003 and ending on September 30, 2003. This contract will automatically renew annually on the first of October of each succeeding year as long as each entity agrees to continue with this contract. 2. The Columbus Community & Industrial Development Corporation agrees to fund and pay for such services in the amount of $12,000.00 for the said period of time and that this amount could increase, decrease, or be discontinued in any given year.
